FAQs

What makes your approach different?

I blend evidence-based physiotherapy with movement-skill coaching and Internal Family Systems (IFS) principles, so we work on bodies and the mindset that drives them. Movement is the medium for deeper change, not just symptom relief.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to book?

No. Physiotherapists in Australia are first-contact practitioners, so you can book directly. A GP referral is only required if you’re claiming Medicare under a Chronic Disease Management plan.

Where do sessions happen?

In-person: Coogee Bay Physio, Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.
Online (Telehealth): secure video consults anywhere in the world.

What can I expect in my first consultation?

A 55-minute deep dive into your injury history, goals and daily habits, followed by movement assessment and an actionable plan you’ll start straight away.

How long are sessions and what do they cost?

  1. Initial Assessment Consults are 45 mins @ $161 AUD

  2. Subsequent Sessions are 30 mins @ $131 AUD

  3. Movement Sessions are 55 mins @ $140 AUD

wHY ARE THE MOVEMENT SESSIONS CHEAPER for longer?

Think of a physio follow-up as a medical review: we make sure your tissues are healing, tweak the rehab plan, and use my physio toolkit (manual therapy, diagnostic tests, clinical reasoning) to keep symptoms trending down.

Think of the movement session as high-touch coaching: you’re ready to train hard, so we treat the hour like a personal-training block—except every cue, load jump, and exercise choice is filtered through a physiotherapist’s lens to bullet-proof you long-term.

What issues do you treat?

Tendinopathies, low-back pain, shoulder problems, return-to-sport rehab, posture-related aches, motor-skill plateaus—and the “I just want to move better” crowd.

Can you help if I’m not injured but want skills like a handstand?

Absolutely. Check out the Handstand Level 1 Program and other skill-based courses in the shop.

Is Telehealth really as effective as in-person physio?

Multiple reviews show telerehabilitation can match in-person outcomes for many musculoskeletal conditions when exercise is the main treatment.

Do you accept private health insurance?

Yes—physiotherapy consultations use standard item codes, so most Aussie extras policies rebate a portion. Just bring your card or claim online after your session.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Life happens! If you need to reschedule, give 24 h notice to avoid a late-cancellation fee and free the slot for someone on the wait-list.
